Important life and magazine update…

A lot of not so fun things have happened to me over the last few years but finally just recently life started to improve.  After eight or nine years of everything I never gave up.  Finally I caught a break.  I have had some big decisions to make lifestyle wise and financially.  

A few months ago I made the decision to move out of my way too expensive city apartment in Perth and buy a 4WD van that is now being converted to allow me to travel and live in it full time.  In about 4 weeks from now I will be living as they say the “Van Life”.

My love for travel has always been a constant along with my love of photography.  I can’t wait to explore the rugged and remote locations Western Australia has to offer.  Getting back to enjoying those early morning sunrises and sunsets with camera in hand has been a long time coming.

Western Australia is a huge state of Australia and covers over 2.5 million square kilometres.  I am going to start off hitting all the spots I have longed to visit since childhood.  No fixed direction and no fixed time frames.  Just following the sun and the red dirt tracks that stretch across the rugged and remote WA outback.

In time I will likely wander further east.  There is a lot to see in this big expanse of country.

I do plan on renewing the passport at some stage and heading off to Europe for a little pasta and limoncello.  It has been years since I have travelled in Europe and can’t wait to get back.

As far as the Angels magazine is concerned I have gone back and forth wanting to sell it off and then keeping it going.  Just this week I accepted an offer from another Australian guy from Sydney called Andrew.  He will be taking over everything to do with the magazine.  I hope you support him as you did for me.  He will likely take over early next week.

As much as I have loved doing everything with the magazine and getting to know all the amazing photographers and models from all around the world, to benefit my mental health I decided I needed to just focus on one thing for a while.   That means heading off grid with camera and drone in tow and enjoying travel again.  The life of a traveller, photographer and van lifer will be good for me.

I have setup a personal Instagram and YouTube channel I will be hoping to share my journeys to.  If you are interested in keeping in touch and seeing what and where I go please follow along.  As responsive to messages as I have always tried to be (even with weirdly different time zones) with the magazine there will be many times out on the road I will simply be off grid and so replying and messaging maybe a little more delayed.  Internet, phone signals and then again bitumen roads are simply not a thing in many places I will be going.
